PE – Physical Education

The aim of physical education is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.  Children are taught PSHE on a weekly basis in sessions lasting between thirty minutes to one hour. In these lessons, children observe the conventions of fair play, honest competition and good sporting behaviour as individual participants, team members and spectators. Children take part in games, gymnastic movement, swimming, dance and athletic activities using indoor and outdoor environments where appropriate.  In KS2, children go to Shadwell Basin for outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing. Years 5/6 also take part in an annual residential for a few days..
